As 2017 comes to an end, everybody here at Wilkins Vardy is starting to look back on the past year. And what a year we’ve had!
At the end of November, we had completed on 604 sales, with that number continuing to rise as December goes on. That’s 38 completions more than we had at the same time last year, and 31 more completions than we had at the same time in 2015.
With 667 new houses to sell by the end of November as well, we’ve had plenty of work to do this year. All that work has been overseen by our new Managing Director, Dan Elliott, after Neil Hunt retired at Christmas last year.
It hasn’t just been Neil we said goodbye to. We were sad to see two members of our staff leave this year: Jacob, who moved onto pastures new, and Bridgett, who made a very big move…to Spain! Sam and Faye joined the team in their place, both of which are experienced property professionals and have fitted right in with the team.
Alison also decided to change her role, from working as a negotiator to working on reception. As a result, we’ve been joined by Krystyne as our new negotiator. Another extremely experienced person having worked in estate agency for over 20 years, who’s been a fantastic addition to Wilkins Vardy.
But it hasn’t been all work!
After her daughter Georgia had a spine operation, Jo Whitely from our Clay Cross branch organised a charity Race Night at the Rugby Club in Chesterfield. All of the money we raised was split between three local charities: Chesterfield Shoebox Appeal, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and MacMillan. It was a fantastic night.
We have carried on working with the Chesterfield Shoebox Appeal, a fantastic local charity dedicated to providing assistance to the homeless and disadvantaged. This Christmas, our Chesterfield branch became a drop off location. We were more than happy to collect shoeboxes from local people and businesses full of presents for their campaign. The response has been fantastic.
All that’s left to do now is wish you a very Merry Christmas from everybody here at Wilkins Vardy. Our Christmas opening hours are below but, if you want to have a look at what properties we have available, you can visit www.wilkins-vardy.co.uk at any time you like.
We look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
