Last minute changes to Health Protection Regulations 14th May 2020

It was revealed last night that amendments to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2020, removed restrictions on travel relating to residential sales and lettings.

The amendment reads:

(l) to undertake any of the following activities in connection with the purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property— (i) visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes; (ii) viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent; (iii) preparing a residential property to move in; (iv) moving home; (v) visiting a residential property to undertake any activities required for the rental or sale of that property;”;

This effectively means that the public can travel to estate agencies and properties to view, whilst agents can also visit properties to photograph, value etc.

Whilst this is good news for those wanting to sell or move home, we will be taking stock over the next day or so to ensure that our working practices are safe and consistent. Whilst we are keen to open the doors and start operating, we are more focused on ensuring that the general public and our staff are adequately protected and that we are operating in line with all the necessary guidelines.

Our offices will therefore remain closed for the time being. As before, we are still handling telephone calls and e mails so we can be contacted if needed. It is hoped that we will be open for business within the coming days.

We will update you again soon.
